Ubud Monkey Forest
Located at the bottom of the famous Ubud town, it’s the home of more than 600 lovely long tailed macaques. The Ubud Monkey Forest is a tropical green forest, crossed by one of the river going from the mountain to the ocean. Inside the forest you can see a sacred temple sanctuaries guarded by the monkeys.
Be careful here, pay attention to your sun glasses, cameras and hat as the monkey are curious by those items.
Ubud Traditional Market
Located Near the Monkey forest you can find the traditional Ubud Market, which is renowned the splendid hand made art and souvenir production but not only that. You can find delicious local fruit and other curious items. All this while you are drinking some fresh local juice by the many local waroung (small shops) selling snacks around the area.
This unique water temple (precisely called Tirta Empul) is located at about 20/30 min driving from the traditional market.
It’s higher than Ubud, and the ride it’s really nice, because you will go on the surrinding mountains, where the nature is the King. Arrived at the temple you will be able to really admire the local architecture at his highest level.
The water in the Indu culture (but also in most of the religions around the world) purify the body and the soul.
Here like the locals you can do your purification ritual in the pool by getting under each natural waterfalls all around the pools. Amazing experience, ask more info to your guide.
Amazing Rice Terrace
Another 10/15 minute ride from the Water Temple and you arrive at the iconic rice terrace. With many nice warung (local restaurants) along the road where you can stop to buy a drink or enjoy some nasi goring (the national dish), enjoy the view!
The best time of the day to visit the Rice terrace is just before sunset so that you can really enjoy the light and the sunset. Don’t miss it as it’s unique!
This is a village specializing in woodcarvings, they produce really nice pieces of art that you can admire directly in the village. You can also get a woodcarving lesson directly from one of the local artisan.
Ubud King Palace
This is a really nice example of local architecture that you can admire right in the center of Ubud.
Get inside and walk around to really appreciate the Royal palace in all his splendor. If you wait for it you can also see the local dance show that is on daily in the palace.
Luwak Coffee Plantation
Here you can taste a variety of local coffee included the famous Luwak coffee, the original one.
Stop here and relax few minutes to enjoy some serious good coffee. After this stop you will feel really recharged and ready for your next stop. Located close to the center of Ubud we suggest you to stop here in the morning or after lunch, perfect and relaxing stop to really enjoy the taste of Bali.
